Marno Verbeek (1965) is Professor of Finance at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, the Netherlands (RSM). Since 1 July 2011, he is also Dean of Research of RSM and Academic Director of the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM). He holds an MSc degree in econometrics and a PhD in economics (1991) from Tilburg University, The Netherlands.

Marno’s interests are in the areas of asset pricing, professional asset management, econometrics and empirical finance. He is author of the successful textbook A Guide to Modern Econometrics (John Wiley and Sons), which had its fourth edition published in 2012. In his work, he focuses on the relevance of econometric methods and their underlying assumptions for empirical work, by providing an intuitive guide through the econometric forest, including the more advanced techniques like GMM, cointegration and panel data modeling.
